KILIMANJARO day 7

KILIMANJARO CLIMB
Going home.  Below Horombo again, looking towards a hill once used as an altar for animal sacrifice by the local Chagga tribes.

After 7 days on the trail, Team Slow finally overtook another group of trekkers.  In this photo they're up ahead and in the process of being overhauled.  Soon after, John asked if we'd like to be evacuated from the lower part of the mountain and enjoy a car ride for the last few kilometres to the park gate; no doubt he reasoned that we were on our last legs.  We were, but declined, wanting to finish the trek under our own steam...


...and so we did.  A triumphant Etsuko stands before the National Park gate.
